For over two hundred years, Libbey Glass has set the standard for the industry in the United States. Originally based in Cambridge, MA, the company moved to Northwest Ohio to take advantage of the raw materials and infrastructure in Toledo, Ohio, with Edward Libbey spearheading the move. Many credit the company with helping to develop Toledo as the "Glass City." A partnership with Ford Motor Company would be another huge step in cementing the company as the eminent glass producer in the United States.
