Description:
This souvenir baseball bat belonged to Connie Wisniewski who played for the Grand Rapids Chicks, a professional baseball team that played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League from 1945 to 1954. It depicts a colored likeness of Wisniewski at the top of the bat and reads "Grand Rapids Chicks 1945", "Greetings from a Rockford Fan", and "Connie Wisniewski, Pitcher". Wisniewski played for the Chicks from 1945-1949 and 1951-1952 and won the Player of the Year Award in 1945. 

This bat was donated by Judy Finazzi who inherited it from Doris Satterfield, another player for the Grand Rapids Chicks.

The Grand Rapids Chicks were a professional women's baseball team in Grand Rapids, Michigan that played in the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) from 1945 to 1954. The team originated in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1944 as the Milwaukee Chicks but moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan a year later to compete as the Grand Rapids Chicks. The Chicks claimed the championship titles in 1947 and 1953 and made the playoffs every year. The AAGPBL folded following the 1954 season.
