This cast was created so the Clapp Family Mastodon could be exhibited in a standing articulated position. All the bones of the Clapp Family Mastodon were 3D scanned and printed, so the cast material on display is an exact replica. Any missing skeletal elements are casts from the Hillsborough Mastodon found in New Brunswick, Canada, because it is an individual of similar size. Research Casting International did the entire scanning, printing, painting, and mounting process.
