Brown wicker sewing basket with rose glass ring on lid. Lid adorned with two short strings of glass beads and coins; twin aqua tassles hangs off middle of lid, along with string tied in bow.;The glass, beads, and coins were produced in China and then imported to San Francisco, California, where they were attached to baskets made in traditional Chinese design. Such baskets were then often used as sewing baskets in the United States. They were then attached to wicker baskets made there, according to traditional Chinese design. Such baskets were then often used by Americans to hold sewing equipment.
