Firearms ➔ W. & B. Pistor Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun

Identifier:
115647
Description:

Manufactured by the W. & B. Pistor company in the town of Schmalkalden Germany. The manufacturer was likely one of hundreds on gunsmiths that existed during the late 1880s throughout both Germany and Europe. This shotgun would have been made to fire 16 gauge brass black powder shotshells. The right barrel on this example is blown out, likely due to over pressured ammunition being fired. The barrel rib is marked “W. & B. PISTOR IN SCHMALKALDEN”.
