Description:
Approximately 308 various sized blocks made of a variety of fabrics are machine pieced together and the seams are embroidered with purple thread. The backing fabric is pink, green, purple and blue dots on white. This fabric is brought from the back to create the border.;Made by Vera Alston, an African-American quilter, and acquired specifically for installation in the late 1980s into the African-American Heritage Exhibition that was located in the west building of the Museum's former exhibition building on Jefferson Street.
