Pink roses with green leaves and stems are hand appliqued to a center cream background. Pink rosebuds and green leaves are appliqued to the 8" wide pale blue border. 1" wide straight grain binding is hand stitched.;This quilt was made from a kit produced by a Grand Rapids company called, Needle Art Guild. It was started in the 1920s by Garrett Raterink. The kits were sold at a local department store, Wurzburg's, through the 1940s. These kit quilts included the background fabric with the pattern stamped on it. It also included separate pieces of fabric to make the applique pieces. This kit cost $8.50.
