Inside the tube, there is a small bag of sorts that is made of a mesh and has cotton on one end. the text on the tube says "Welsbach, Unmounted Mantle, 813, Do not crush or bend mantle. In handling, hold top portion only lightly between thumb and forefinger. Welsbach, Imported exclusively by the Welsbach corporation, Baltimore Maryland, Made in England."
