There are two specimens shown on the collection sheet.  Both specimens are Ulmus rubra and were collected by Homer C. Skeels on the campus of Michigan Agricultural College (now Michigan State University), Ingham County, Michigan.  No specific collection locality on the campus of Michigan Agricultural College was noted. One specimen (1289328) was collected on May 21, 1895 and the other specimen (1289329) was collected on April 21,1895.

Homer Collar Skeels (H.C. Skeels) was an American botanist and agriculturalist. He was born in 1873 and died in 1934. Skeels was married to Jennie Shaddicks, a fellow botanist.
