This summer service cap is from the United States Army of the United States Armed Forces. It was worn by Kenneth Veneklasen of Grand Rapids, Michigan during World War II (1939-1945). It is made of khaki twill and has a brown leather chinstrap that is attached by gold buttons. This cap also has an enlisted man's United States Army insignia on the front.Kenneth Veneklasen fought in the Battle of the Bulge in Germany and also served in the Netherlands. He also helped liberate the Wöbbelin Concentration Camp near the city of Ludwigslust in 1945.
