Vase, Crown Milano

Squat, rounded vasiform from the Crown-Milano line. Interior is milk white. Mouth features wide, crimped lip. Cream-colored body fetures twenty four swirling. molded ribs, and is decorated with Anglo-Japanese style peonies outlined in gold. Peonies float over randomly placed swirl designs of robins egg blue.;This vase is a fine and typical example of Victorian art glass produced by the prominent maker Mt. Washington Glass Co. It will be used in the permanent 'Collecting, A-Z: G is for Glass' exhibition.;Purchased for the Museum by the Collector's Club from The Burmese Cruet, PO Box 432, Montgomeryville, PA. 18936.;1) Seller's inventory label on bottom of base reads, '3851'. |Date:

The Club has had a long association with the Grand Rapids Public Museum as a donor of decorative arts and funds for acquisitions; and has also provided similar funds to the Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Frederick Meijer Gardens.
