Description:
Tall, attenuated lily form vase with satin finish, from Mt. Washington's Burmese line. Vase begins as a narrow stem atop a wide base, and widens as it ascends to a wide lily shaped mouth. The color changes from a vaseline green to yellow, to peach to pink.;This is a fine and typical example of Victorian art glass by the reknowned Mt. Washington Glass Co. It will be used in the permanent 'Collecting, A-Z: G is for Glass' exhibition.;Purchased for the Museum by the Collector's Club from The Burmese Cruet, PO Box 432, Montgomeryville, PA. 18936;1) Seller's inventory label on bottom of base reads '3854'. |

The Collectors’ Club of Grand Rapids was founded in 1938 “to increase authentic information concerning objects or materials of historical value or personal interest and to encourage the collecting of them.” This private club of collectors meets in member’s homes to hear presentations about antiques and collecting. The Club has had a long association with the Grand Rapids Public Museum as a donor of decorative arts and funds for acquisitions; and has also provided similar funds to the Grand Rapids Art Museum and the Frederick Meijer Gardens.
