Description:

This wedding hat is made of velvet and features a buckle with rhinestone embellishments. It was made by Miss Minton Modes of Grand Rapids, Michigan. 

This hat was worn by Ada Byron Morton when she married William Oden Hughard Jr. on December 31st, 1889. The wedding took place at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It is accompanied by a wedding dress (1992.50.1a-b) and a muff (1992.50.1c).
