Description:
This blue t-shirt is from Breton Downs Elementary School in East Grand Rapids, Michigan. It reads "You Can't Mask Bulldog Pride | Breton Downs | 2020-2021" and shows an image of a bulldog wearing a face mask. During the COVID-19 pandemic, public schools had to reevaluate how to bring students back safely for the 2020-2021 school year. This often included requiring face masks for students and staff, offering in-person and virtual learning choices, and keeping classrooms socially distanced from each other. Each year, Breton Downs Elementary offers a school shirt, with this one featuring a face mask to mark the changes due to COVID-19.

Alternate names: Gildan

Gildan Activewear Inc. was founded in Canada in 1984 by Greg and Glen Chamandy. The company was originally founded to make fabric for Harley Inc. which was the childrenswear business owned by the family. After Gildan began to see success, Harley Inc. was closed by 1994 in order to put all focus and efforts into Gildan. The company specializes in undecorated t-shirts, activewear, and fleeces which are then often decorated by screen-printing companies. Currently, the company employs over 42,000 people and owns and operates manufacturing facilities in Rio Nance, Honduras, and the Caribbean.
