Description:
This green dress is made of polyester and spandex and features a pattern of purple and pink flowers with foliage of various shades of green throughout. It has a round neckline and straight sleeves as well as a zipper down the center back. It was made by Nat Kaplan, Inc. and worn by Edith Blodgett of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Edith Irwin Blodgett was born on September 29th, 1916 to Dr. Thomas Charles and Grace Irwin in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated from Grand Rapids Junior College and later attended Katherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston, Massachusetts before beginning a position in New York City where she met and married William Ferris in 1942. After World War II, the couple moved to Albertson and then Syosset, Long Island until William passed away around 1965. She returned to Grand Rapids and married John W. Blodgett Jr. in 1967. Edith was a member of the Grand Rapids Symphony Board and also supported the New World Quartet, The Blodgett Artists series at Harvard, the GRSO (Visiting Artists Series, sponsorship of percussion chair, etc.), Camp Blodgett, D.A. Blodgett/Jones Home, Blue Lake Arts camp, Grand Valley piano scholarships, Aquinas College, The Civic Theatre, Blodgett Hospital Nursing School, Planned Parenthood, and many other organizations. She passed away in Grand Rapids on April 2nd, 2012. Nat Kaplan Incorporated (creator)
Nat Kaplan Incorporated was a dress manufacturing company founded in 1935 by Nathan Kaplan in New York. When Kaplan passed away in 1956, his wife Sylvia and his son Richard took over the business and ran in until it closed around 1986.
