This garrison cap, sometimes referred to as an overseas cap, is from the First Special Service Force of the United States Fifth Army. It was worn during World War II. It is made of khaki cotton and features red, white, and blue piping that represents the First Special Service Force.

The First Special Service Force was organized on July 9th, 1942. The joint American-Canadian force consisted of three small regiments and a service battalion. It served under the command of the United States Fifth Army during World War II. The First Special Service Force disbanded on December 5, 1944, at the end of the war.
