strawThis horsehair wicker hat has grosgrain ribbon around the crown that meets in the front to form a bow. It was made by Becher Jordan Incorporated of Grand Rapids, Michigan. This hat was most likely worn during the summer. The wide brim would have protected the wearer from the sun and the breathable straw wicker would have kept her from getting too warm.
