This green satin evening dress has extensive beading on a black net overlay. The hem of the dress is trimmed in fur. It was made by Grand Rapids dress maker Helene M. Christensen as seen on an interior label on the inside of the bodice. Her business was active between the years c.1905- 1921 according to the Grand Rapids City Directory and was located first on 9 Ransom Ave and then moved to 15 Ransom Ave. This dress is an excellent example of the fashionable clothing that was being made locally in Grand Rapids by the city's growing number of dressmakers.Date:
