This two-piece uniform is a summer service uniform from the United States Army of the United States Armed Forces. It was worn by Major Charles F. Hopkins while serving in the railroad division of the Corps of Engineers in France during World War I.
The uniform is made of khaki cotton drill and is comprised of two pieces that include a jacket and breeches. The jacket features a War Service chevron on the proper left sleeve cuff and epaulets that indicate the rank of Major. There is a black and red R patch on the proper left shoulder. There are U.S. insignias on the collar as well as insignias for the Corps of Engineers.
