Description:
This satin dress has a embroidered floral pattern throughout some of the fabrics. The bodice has a band collar, darts, crocheted buttons, and a long tail. The skirt is draped at the front and has knife pleats at the hem. Features that are indicative of this time period are the small bustled skirt, the tail on the bodice, and the band collar.

Although this information should be reviewed, because the style does not match the 1860's, this dress was said to have been worn to President Abraham Lincoln's inaugural ball on March 4th, 1861 by the wife of the secretary of the treasurer. It has a matching parasol, number 154673.
