Description:
This three piece silk floral dress consists of a bodice, a skirt, and an overskirt. The boned bodice has close fitted sleeves that are gathered at the shoulder. It also has a standing collar of lace as well as a lace yoke. There is a center front panel of bengaline that is embellished with embroidery. The skirt has three tiers at the hem. Features that indicate this dress is from the the 19th century are the boned bodice, the hourglass silhouette, and the standing collar.

This dress was worn by Mrs. Lloyd Wharton-Bickley of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
