Description:
This tan dress is made of silk and has a metallic lace overlay. There are velvet bands around the waist and this dress has an asymmetrical hem. It also has a scoop neckline and no sleeves. There is an interior label that reads "Betty Wales Shops, Fifth Avenue, New York". Features that are indicative of the 1920s are the dropped waist, the short hem, and the lack of sleeves.

Mary Kindel was born in 1907 and married Thomas Kindel in 1930. Thomas Kindel and his brother owned Kindel Furniture Company which was founded by their father Charles. Mary was involved with many organizations and was one of the founders of the first Planned Parenthood facilities in Grand Rapids. She passed away in 2001 and was the last living founder of the Grand Rapids Planned Parenthood.  Betty Wales Shops (creator)
