Description:
This evening dress has draped tulle over the shoulders and across the back to create an attached shawl. There is floral embroidery throughout the dress and there is transparent flounce at the hem. Features that indicate this dress is from the early 1900s are the elaborate embroidery and the straighter silhouette.

Mary Kindel was born in 1907 and married Thomas Kindel in 1930. Thomas Kindel and his brother owned Kindel Furniture Company which was founded by their father Charles. Mary was involved with many organizations and was one of the founders of the first Planned Parenthood facilities in Grand Rapids. She passed away in 2001 and was the last living founder of the Grand Rapids Planned Parenthood.
