This straw hat features artificial flowers and feathers. It was made by Loula E. Beecher of Grand Rapids, Michigan. During this time period most hats were small and fit very close to the head, however, summer hats still featured a wider brim to protect the wearer from the sun. A common feature of 1930s summer hats was a turned down brim to hide the face.
