This black straw hat features a net overlay that goes over the top of the hat and attaches to the bottom. It was created by Loula E. Beecher of Grand Rapids, Michigan. This hat most likely would have been worn during the summer months due to the use of straw. Because of its style, it may have been worn during mourning.
