Description:
This World War I American Red Cross surgical gown is made of white cotton and has an open back that closes with two buttons on the back of the bodice. The front has a V-neckline and a patch pocket on either side of the waist. This uniform has a patch at the neckline that has the initials AFFW. There are two buttons on each of the cuffs and an attached belt that buttons on the proper right side of the waist. There is also an interior label that reads "Lowell Mfg. Co., Grand Rapids, Mich., Size C". It is accompanied by veil number 144060.1.
