Description:
This rayon dress has elaborate beadwork on the sides of the bodice as well as on the back. It is sleeveless and has a plunge back. This dress also has an attached belt that wraps from the back to the front and connects with a rhinestone clasp. Features that are indicative of the early 1930s are the long hemline, the natural waist, and the lack of sleeves.

Mary Kindel was born in 1907 and married Thomas Kindel in 1930. Thomas Kindel and his brother owned Kindel Furniture Company which was founded by their father Charles. Mary was involved with many organizations and was one of the founders of the first Planned Parenthood facilities in Grand Rapids. She passed away in 2001 and was the last living founder of the Grand Rapids Planned Parenthood.
