Identifier:
187502
Description:
This ensemble consists of a coat and a shift dress. The coat is made of tan synthetic material and has a metallic lattice pattern throughout. There are six covered buttons down the center front and two false pockets near the waist. It has a band collar and a white interior lining. It also has two back vents and an interior label that reads "Sandra Sage". The shift dress is made of the same tan synthetic material and has the same metallic pattern. It has a scoop neckline and no sleeves. There is also an Elem zipper down the center back. Features that are indicative of this time period are the matching coat, the shift dress, and the short hem.

The shift dress was a modern version of the 1920s flapper dress. It was most common during the 1960s and was similar to the sheath dress of the 50s. It was looser than the sheath dress and featured darts at the bust and a straight or A-line skirt.
